Each Nicole Barr jewelry pendant, necklace and earring is hand crafted at every step from the casting of gold and silver to the hand applied kiln fired enamel colors, a process called Plique-a-jour. Plique-a-jour is a French term for "glimpse of day". It is a difficult technique whereby translucent enamel color is suspended between threads of gold or silver. This allows light to pour through and illuminate the colors with the same brilliance as a stained glass window seen in sunlight.
