Ancient Greek Diobol Coin in 14Kt Ring

Mesembria, Thrace. AR Diobol circa 400-350 B.C., This coin is bezel set in a14Kt yellow gold Ring Obverse: Corinthian Helmet, facing.  Reverse:  META within wheel.

Dimensions; Top of ring averages 13mm diameter, on a 3mm shank. Ring size 5.5, can be altered.

This coin was minted in an ancient Doric settlement of Mesembria. Located on the east side of Thrace, near the Black Sea, Mesembria was an important trading city and one of the five cities in the Greek Pentopolis on the Euxine.  Diobol simply means two obol; a smaller denomination of coin.
