Spanish 1 Real Coin, circa 1556-1598 C.E. Century, struck in the New World at the Potosi Mint. This coin has been mounted in a 18Kt Gold Bezel on Sterling Silver Ring.

Felipe (Philip) II was the last Hapsburg King of Spain. Philip was born in Valladolid, the son of Charles V, of the Holy Roman Empire, and his consort Isabella of Portugal. He married Mary I of England, daughter of Henry VIII. During his marriage to Mary I, he was also King of England and Ireland.

He was Lord of the Seventeen Provinces from 1556 until 1581, holding various titles for the individual territories such as Duke or Count. Also known as Philip the Prudent, he ruled one of the world's largest empires which included territories on every continent then known to Europeans.  During his reign Spain reach the height of its influence and power, directing explorations all around the world and was the foremost western European power.
